Make Your Garden the Ultimate Relaxation Station
One of the best things about having a garden is being able to step outside and unwind. The plants, the nature, and the atmosphere can really create a sense of relaxation. Let’s talk about some tips for creating your ultimate relaxation station.
Water Feature
Not everyone can have a babbling brook in their backyard. However, you can always purchase or create one! Water fountains and features can create a tranquil ambiance. The sound of flowing water combined with the sounds of nature can really transport the mind. Water features can also be used as a focal point or design inspiration for your garden. You could even use a tabletop water fountain as a centerpiece for your outdoor dining table or lounge area coffee table.
Lavender
This one almost goes without saying! Lavender is known to help de-stress and relax. Plant some lavender in your beds or a cute decorative pot. You can even use lavender scented candles and lantern oils.
Fire Feature
Who doesn’t love curling up beside a fire on a cool evening? Adding a fire feature to your garden will really help usher in the fall nights. If you have a smaller garden area, I would recommend a free-standing fire pit. This way you can easily move and adjust it for your smaller space. If you have a more open and larger garden, you could add a built-in firepit that can flow with that rest of your patio space and furniture. It’s also super easy to incorporate lanterns and torches throughout the space. Not only do fire features provide coziness and light, they help deter bugs.
Shade and Sun
Having a good combination of shade and sun exposure is crucial for your garden! When its warm outside, its nice to have a reprieve from the sun. You can create shade naturally with trees, shrubs, and other plants. Or you can use an umbrella or built structure like a pergola. In addition, it is nice to have a fully covered area in your garden so you can enjoy your space while it is raining.
